Doorway

About the project

Doorway, a digital business card provider, approached the design agency to revamp their website. The primary goal was to showcase their product, a digital business card integrated with Apple Wallet and Google Pay, in an engaging and user-friendly manner.

As the lead product designer on this project, my responsibilities included conducting client workshops and user test, performing a UX audit, user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, and finally delivering high-fidelity designs for development.

Client: Doorway

Type of project: UX/UI

Discovery &

UX Audit

I ran some researched on high-end market and how they approach their clientele. Results showed that a cleaner, simplistic, and elegant look would enhance credibility and attract a more lucrative clientele. The desired solution involved a complete redesign focused on user experience to encourage subscription adoption among medium to large businesses.

To identify pain points in the existing website, I performed a thorough UX audit. This helped me understand the areas that needed improvement and set a direction for the redesign. We then proceeded to work closely with the Doorway team to analyse their current data which showed a high user drop off rate at the “Get started page” which was a crucial stepping stone into converting the user into a subscribing user.

Sitemaps &

Workshops

Using all the data and insights gathered, I created an easy to read sitemap that would be simple for the client to understand. I conducted a client workshop around the sitemap to discuss the best solutions and ideas for each page whilst addressing the pain points at the same time - such as why users were dropping off at the Get Started page and how we could improve on this.

Wireframes,

Hi-Fi's &

Testing

Next, I created wireframes that laid out the structure and flow of the new website. These wireframes were then converted into interactive prototypes to facilitate user testing. The prototypes were tested with users to gather feedback and validate design decisions. Based on the feedback received, I refined the designs to address any usability issues and enhance the user experience - whilst keeping regular check-ins with the client.

With the wireframes and prototypes validated, I proceeded to develop high-fidelity designs adhering to the client's branding guidelines. The hi-fi designs were presented to users for another round of testing to ensure that the design changes had a positive impact on user experience.

Responsive Design

& QA

To ensure a seamless user experience across various devices, I worked on different breakpoints, including mobile, tablet, 1440px wide, and 1600px wide screens. I collaborated closely with the development team, conducting thorough QA sessions and creating tickets to ensure that the final product matched the approved designs as closely as possible.
